The PrintNZ Training Apprentice Awards take place on 18 June 2010 where Jason and six other award winners will be acknowledged in front of their families, employers and other industry representatives.

Jason says he feels extremely overwhelmed to have won.

“At school I was interested in technical drawing, art and metal work. On a school visit to a printing company I was fascinated by the machinery and how it worked. Having left school with no formal qualifications I feel extremely overwhelmed to have not only completed my apprenticeship but to have won the packaging award.

“My career goals are to initially become a supervisor and then move into corporate management. Ultimately I would like to be in the position to be able to see every job completed on time every time for the customers and the company.”

Winning this award puts Jason in contention for the overall Apprentice of the Year Award, with the winner announced at the Pride In Print Awards on the evening of 18 June.
