| William Tokelau from Amcor Kiwi Packaging Case in Auckland was presented with the Fibreboard Packaging Apprentice of the Year Award at the PrintNZ Training Apprentice Awards breakfast on 8 May 2009. William says he is very proud of his award win. “This has taken me completely by surprise because all I wanted was to help my manager get the NZQA training up and running and promote it internally by doing it myself. I feel honoured and proud to be chosen as the winner. “I enjoy the challenge of working out and setting up different types of jobs in the fastest time possible, achieving a good quality print and reaching my personal targets.” Winning this award put William in contention for the overall Apprentice of the Year Award, with the winner announced at the Pride In Print Awards on the evening of 8 May. Screen printer Sam Donaldson went on to scoop this award.
