Hard work and a positive attitude have helped Kelvin Hinaki of Charta Packaging, Lower Hutt, win the Paperboard Packaging Apprentice Award for 2005.
The Paperboard Packaging Award, sponsored by NZPPA, is one of six branch awards that make up the annual PAITC Apprentice Awards. Paperboard Packaging apprentices who completed their training during 2005 were in contention for this award. Kelvin, his wife and employer will travel to Auckland in June to attend the PAITC Apprentice Awards, along with six other branch award winners. Winning this award puts Kelvin in contention for the top printing industry training award, Apprentice of the Year, sponsored by Agfa New Zealand, Coates, CPI Group & UDC Finance. The winner of this award will be announced live on stage at Pride In Print on June 9, 2006. Kelvin says, "I am very happy with myself about winning the Paperboard Packaging Award. It gives me the confidence in knowing that if you set your mind to doing something, you can achieve your goals and further yourself in this industry.
