Genesis
Energy Say Sorry For Advertisement
Many
of you will have heard the recent Genesis Energy advertisement encouraging
customers to get their bill on line by suggesting that having a bill
printed was environmentally unfriendly. Joan Grace complained to the
marketing manager of Genesis about the way that the advertisement maligned
our industry and asked them to withdraw the ad. Following this
discussion the following response was received:
"I
am sorry to hear that you have had complaints about our Brownie Points ad
and that you found our ad was encouraging people not to use the services of
printers. This was not our intention at all, so I apologise for this. Our
ad was designed to encourage customers to get their bills online which earn
customers additional Brownie Points rewards.
"This radio ad will be running till the end
of the week, and then after that we will be reviewing this ad."
Regards
Yvette
Gibson
Brand Manager
Genesis Energy
The ad has not run since.
What
Do Your Customers Think About Print?
As
part of the ongoing objective to raise the profile of print, PrintNZ has
conducted external research into the peceptions
of print. This research has included stakeholders in the industry,
print buyers/Government/corporate buyers and consumers.
We have
been holding seminars around the country to discuss the research and there
are still a few remaining as detailed below. These seminars put the
results of this research in front of you and discuss how this information
can be used to help the industry raise awareness of how effective and
efficient print is as a communication tool.
In
addition these meetings will talk about the recently approved changes to
the Pride In Print Awards programme for 2010. Come along and find out
what's changed and how it will benefit the Awards programme and the
industry as a whole.

Heidelberg
Shield/Auckland Golf Day - Lost And Found
The
recent combined Heidelberg Shield and Auckland Golf Day was a huge
success at the Whangaparaoa Golf Club. We
put on a good show for our visitors, even managing to put on some sunshine
in amongst all the rain that led up to it. South Australia were the
winners of the Heidelberg Shield and it was a happy pair that flew
home as victors. New Zealand was well represented by Matt Costello of
Blenheim Print and Greg Chapman of Gravure Packaging - thanks guys.
There were
three items left behind in the men's changing room at the end of the day.
If you are missing any items please email me at ruth.cobb@printnz.co.nz and I
will get them returned to you:
